Happy Friday! I’m back from vacation (although about to go on a camping trip for vaca #2) and thought it’d be fun to do another FF and Blog Hop Friday since I missed last week. I may be late to respond to peeps, but I will get back to you when I can. I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer!

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View!

This week’s FF question comes from Erika @ Let’s talk about books:

Q.  ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual simulation.

A.  Hmm… this is kind of hard for me. I’m not really a fan girly type. I’ve met some of my idols (not actors/media celebrities) and discovered that they have flaws and put their pants on like everyone else… so I don’t get super excited about sightings and what not. OK, thinking… Oh, I have a good one to share, though I wouldn’t say he’s my favorite book/movie character. Let’s just say that the character obviously left an impression. I read the books Jurassic Park and The Lost World by Michael Crichton when I was in High School – a long long time ago, over 10 years ago, and I still have reoccurring dreams (maybe once a year) that star Dr. Ian Malcom (played by Jeff Goldblum). I dream that we have these deep philosophical conversations about chaos theory and the ethics of bringing back dinosaurs. I’m not joking. OK. You can stop laughing now! Anyway… I think if he walked into the room I’d immediately flush and not be able to get out out an intelligible sentence without making a mess of it. *sigh*

Q.  What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?

A.  I rarely, if ever, put down a book and not finish it. I feel like I can’t judge a book unless I’ve read it entirely. Things that would cause me to put down a book: a main character that disgusts me and doesn’t seem appropriate to the story, or when an author is close-minded and writes with an obvious agenda. Though just because an author has strong opinions that oppose my own, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t finish the book. Actually, I usually want to finish unless I just think it’s over the top and inappropriate.

These were great questions! I look forward to hopping around and seeing everyone’s answers. Alrighty, time to work on some book reviews. If you follow, please leave a comment with a link so I can check out your blog as well. Have a great weekend and happy 4th of July!
