ArmchairBEA 2012

Hello, it’s day 2 of Armchair BEA, which means giveaways galore! YAY! I hope you’re enjoying the discussions so far. If you missed my introduction interview post, you can check it out here.

In celebration of BEA/Armchair BEA week, I’m giving away a signed hardcover copy of Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler to one lucky winner! This giveaway is being offered to only Armchair BEA 2012 registered participants with US/Canada mailing addresses.

Bittersweet

Once upon a time, Hudson knew exactly what her future looked like. Then a betrayal changed her life, and knocked her dreams to the ground. Now she’s a girl who doesn’t believe in second chances… a girl who stays under the radar by baking cupcakes at her mom’s diner and obsessing over what might have been.

So when things start looking up and she has another shot at her dreams, Hudson is equal parts hopeful and terrified. Of course, this is also the moment a cute, sweet guy walks into her life… and starts serving up some seriously mixed signals. She’s got a lot on her plate, and for a girl who’s been burned before, risking it all is easier said than done.

It’s time for Hudson to ask herself what she really wants, and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to get it. Because in a place where opportunities are fleeting, she knows this chance may very well be her last…(Goodreads)

I loved this book! It’s a great YA contemporary with fantastic characters, a heart-warming story, and it will make you crave cupcakes! Each chapter is titled with a different cupcake with its description and it will make you want to either bake your own or seek out the best bakery in town :).

Check out the book trailer:

Enter the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win! Entrants must be listed under “2012 Participants” on the Armchair BEA website, and must be an active participant – I will be checking! Contest is open to US/Canada only.

I’m not a huge fan of sci-fi, but do watch the occasional movie & shows. I sadly don’t read many sci-fi books. Some of my favorite sci-fi movies are the Aliens & Predators movies.

The X-Files for me. It was the first show I really got into and it introduced me to fandom in all its craziness.

Glad you made it to BEA, how fun!

I’d love to win this book; this author’s been recommended to me since I’m a fan of Sara Zarr.

I’m not the biggest sci-fi fan, but what got me into it was the recent remake of Star Trek. I could practically recite that movie word for word because I’ve seen it so much. That was my gateaway to the wonderful world of sci-fi.

Bittersweet! -claps hands like a fool- My best friend just finished reading this a little while ago and she wants me to read it so badly.

I’m not really a fan of sci-fi. I can read sci-fi novels without much trouble, but they aren’t the first books I’ll seek out if I need something to read right now. I’m a big fan of the Sky Chasers series by Amy Kathleen Ryan, though. I read them recently and they gave me a better appreciation for sci-fi as a genre.

Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

Ooh sci-fi… it was probably my early exposure to Star Trek, which my Mom watched all the time. The first sci-fi I remember liking was Star Wars… and then more recently maybe something like Firefly and Battlestar Galactica.
