Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes. (Goodreads)

Walking Disaster is a companion novel to Beautiful Disaster; it’s the same story told from Travis’s perspective, but also very different. I loved Beautiful Disaster, and I devoured this book as well. I was up until 3 AM finishing this book, and it didn’t matter that ultimately I knew what was going to happen!

While reading Beautiful Disaster, I loved and hated Travis. He’s possessive, jealous, and has a quick temper. Abby and Travis’s stormy relationship is borderline toxic, OK, it’s pretty toxic… but really, they’re a beautiful disaster and I couldn’t help rooting for them.

There are two sides to every story, and I really appreciated being inside Travis’s head in Walking Disaster, and reading the story from his perspective. I loved seeing Travis’s vulnerable side, and understanding his emotions in certain scenes that I was weary about in BD. I also really enjoyed seeing his relationships with his Dad, brothers, and best friend Shepley.

I highly recommend reading Beautiful Disaster first (if you haven’t already), as some events are referenced or glossed over without much detail, and I think it’d confuse new readers. Walking Disaster is a must-read for fans!
