Is it just me, or are you ready for fall and for TV shows to come back? Fall is one of my favorite seasons (spring is the other) and I can’t wait for the cooler weather, the leaves to change color, all things pumpkin, and for TV shows to return! Years ago I started making a spreadsheet for all of my shows, and I look forward to filling it out each season. Yes, it’s been established, I’m a nerd. Each year I share my schedule with friends, and that includes all of you. Note that the times shown are CT.

Fall 2013-2014 TV Season

*Yellow indicates a new series I plan to check out

Crazy, right?! Though I don’t expect to actually keep watching all the shows highlighted yellow, it’s still a crazy schedule. And I tried to be selective when I added potential shows to watch. I wouldn’t be able to swing it without TiVo, Hulu, and network apps. Oh, and I know that The Carrie Diaries isn’t new, but I haven’t watched it yet so I’m going to try it out this year (after attempting to catch up on Hulu).

Shows that were ended, cancelled, or I’m giving up: 90210, Private Practice, Last Resort, SMASH, and Revolution. I’m not 100% decided on Revolution… I just got bored with it last season. I missed a couple of episodes and it didn’t even phase me. With as packed as my schedule is already, I’m not sure I’ll keep it.

In case you’re wondering, we don’t get HBO or Showtime so that’s why Game of Thrones isn’t on this list… we have to wait for the DVDs from Netflix.

I’m really excited for Nashville and New Girl to return, they are 2 of my favorite shows right now. I’m skeptical about most of the new series that are premiering this season, but I’ll give them a shot. I think I was the only person who watched The Originals spin-off trial this spring and wasn’t all that impressed. I’m most curious about The 100, based on the book The 100 by Kass Morgan releasing September 3, 2013 (getting mixed reviews).

Preview of The 100:

What’s on your list? Is there a show that you’re super excited about that’s not on my list? Any shows that were cancelled that you’re sad about?

I’m anxiously awaiting Sleepy Hollow too! I even got my boyfriend interested in it! It seems so interesting! And I didn’t know there was a show for The 100! I just found out about the book lol Looks like I’ll be watching/reading that one as well!

    Great post!

I watch a lot of what you listed but I also watch Supernatural on the CW. I want to check out Sleepy Hollow, The 100, The Crazy One, Reign, The Tomorrow People and Alice in Wonderland also. Like you I will narrow it down.

Right now I’m going through old Doctor Who on Netflix for the first time and I’m LOVING it. But I’m excited for Castle, need to catch up on the Mentalist (I need to get season 5), psyched for the final season of HIMYM, and want to check out The Following.

I love that you do this every year. 🙂

  4. That is some schedule!

I’ll definitely continue watching New Girl, TVD, PLL, The Carrie Diaries, The Following, HIMYM, TBBT, Suits, OITNB, Awkward, Revenge and Arrow.

Wow, too many shows! Also, I’ll be checking out The 100 and Star-Crossed.

Good luck to us for all that TV watching! Eep xD

I always wait until the fall preview issue of TV Guide comes out, or more recently until the online tv critics start releasing their season overviews, to make my schedule. I haven’t been paying as much attention lately, so I’ll have to go see if those are out yet.

I’m skipping The Originals. I have the last 12 episodes of last season of TVD to watch and the main reason I keep putting them off is that I have NO interest in the originals. Seriously, I wish they would all just disappear. I’m actually considering giving up TVD as well, just because I don’t want to watch those episodes and I won’t go on without watching them.

I’m really looking forward to Sleepy Hollow and the return of Nashville.

Glad to know I’m not the only one that doesn’t want to watch the originals! I don’t mind them in TVD except when they completely take over the episode’s storyline. I hope to love Sleepy Hollow… both my husband and I are interested and it’s hard to find shows these days that we both like. I can’t help but be skeptical as I couldn’t get into Once Upon a Time and eventually dropped Grim because I just didn’t care…

Oh, me too on Once Upon a Time and Grimm! I know a lot of people who were super into OUaT (less so now, I think) but I hated the first episode. I mean, I HATED it. I tried to go back much later and I did like the episode more, but I think four episodes were all I could manager. It’s just not for me. I also watched a few episodes of Grimm but I think I had scheduling issues and didn’t like it enough to try to juggle it.
