It’s time to choose: Love or lies, faith or fear, darkness or destiny.

Seventeen-year-old Quinn hasn’t slept a full night in twenty-three days. She’s terrified of the demons that stalk her dreams, pull her into a deep dark nothingness and whisper hauntingly of her death. Exhausted, Quinn dozes off in the school hallway, and Aaron, an amnesiac with a psychic ability, accidentally enters her nightmare. If Quinn can learn to trust her heart, and Aaron can discover the secret locked away in his fragile memory, their combined power could banish the darkness back to the underworld for good. That is, unless the demons kill them first.

In the length of a tweet (140 characters), tell us about your book.

Demons exploit & manipulate Quinn’s inner fears. To save herself she must choose love or lies, faith or fear, darkness or destiny.

If you could jump into a book and live in that world, which would it be?

I’d have to say Harry Potter. Who wouldn’t want to spend some time at Hogwarts? JK Rowling’s world is so beautifully rich and her characters are wonderful.

Is there a song you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?

Keep Myself Awake by Black Lab

What’s your favorite quote?

I’m particularly fond of quotes, so my favorite changes depending on my mood or my needs. Right now I’m in love with a quote from W. Somerset Maugham― There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?

Be true to yourself. Advice given to me by my oldest sister and I’ve never forgotten it.

If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?

Fairy Dust and Wanderlust: The Art of Finding Yourself When You Didn’t Even Know You Were Lost

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I’ve been an extra on the children’s TV show Wishbone as well as an extra on Walker Texas Ranger

Are you a social butterfly or a wallflower?

I’m a Flyflower. I’m naturally an introvert, but I can be extroverted when I need and want to be.

When it comes to writing, are you a planner or pantser?

Pantser

What is next on your to read list?

I just started The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron.

Heather L. ReidAbout the Author

Heather L. Reid is both American and British and has called six different cities in three different countries, home. Her strong sense of wanderlust and craving for a new adventure mean you might find her wandering the moors of her beloved Scotland, exploring haunted castles, or hiking through a magical forest in search of fairies and sprites. When she’s not venturing into the unknown in her real life, she loves getting lost in the worlds of video games or curling up by the fire with good story. For now, this native Texan is back in the Lone Star State, settling down with her Scottish husband and dreaming up new novels to write.

I have already read Pretty Dark Nothing, but I still would LOVE to read a physical copy. If it was so good on my Kindle, it has to be so much more fantastic on actual paper 🙂

  8. Meghan Stith says:

What does the title mean exactly? I’m always captivated by titles that have some sort of vague meaning that you wouldn’t know unless you read the book. I think it’s a sign of some good writing.
Thanks for the giveaway! Oh, and that is a really beautiful book cover!

  9. Mary Preston says:

PRETTY DARK NOTHING, fabulous title, does sound amazing.

I’d go to Hogwarts in a heartbeat.
