For fans of Lauren Kate’s Fallen series comes the exciting conclusion to the trilogy that includes The Beautiful and the Cursed and The Lovely and the Lost. The Waverly sisters must save themselves before all is lost.

Since the Waverlys arrived in Paris, the streets have grown more fearsome by the day. As Ingrid learns to master her lectrux gift, she must watch Axia’s power grow strong enough to extend beyond her Underneath hive. By all indications, the fallen angel’s Harvest is near-and the timing couldn’t be worse.

Targeted by vengeful gargoyles, Gabby has been exiled to London for her own protection. Meanwhile, the gargoyle castes are in disarray, divided between those who want Luc to lead them and those who resent him and his fondness for humans. The Alliance is crumbling from the inside as well, its members turning against one another, and possibly against the Waverlys, too.

Axia has promised that the world will burn. And now, unable to trust the Alliance, separated from Luc, Gabby, and her twin, Grayson, Ingrid is left to face the demon uprising alone.

Q & A with Page Morgan

In the length of a tweet (140 characters), tell us about your book.

Two sisters ally with demon hunters and shape-shifting gargoyles to defend the city of Paris against a vengeful fallen angel.

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve looked up in the name of research – or what do you think the government has flagged you for?

So many strange Google searches! The two that come to mind are: “How does blood settle in corpses” and “How does it feel to be choked to death”

Are you working on something new? Can you tell us what’s coming next?

Yes! I have multiple projects in the pipeline. The first is a YA witchy thriller set in a small New England town haunted by a crossroads demon. The second is an adult romance series I’m co-writing with another author. And the third is a light-hearted alien invasion story that I’m envisioning as a New Adult title. I hope to be able to announce something official soon!

What inspired you to want to become a writer?

Stories and story ideas have always come so easily to me. There are stories everywhere, and I’ve just always been driven to tell them. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t write. It’s a part of who I am.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?

The Giver by Lois Lowry. Before I read it, I’d never thought to appreciate the fact that I have the capacity to feel love. Being able to feel love and express love is an amazing thing. What if it was taken away from us? The book has a haunting, ambiguous ending, too. Every reader will have to decide for themselves what happened.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

The ability to transport myself…or in Harry Potter terms, Apparate!

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.

Every time a reader emails me to say they either loved my book, or it inspired them to write a book of their own, it’s a fantastic feeling.

If you could jump into a book and live in that world, which would it be?

Great question! I love the world Morgan Rhodes has built in her Falling Kingdom series. Even though it’s a dangerous world, I think I’d like to experience it for myself—for at least one day!

What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?

I had a lot of favorite books, but the one I really remember affecting me most was Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. It was the first book I read where a main character died, and it definitely changed the way I looked at the world and life.

What’s the best writing advice you’ve received?

To always to be working on something new! Never finish a project and then hang all your hopes on that one book selling or becoming a bestseller. Have new projects in the pipeline at all times.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?

Well, it isn’t coming out until 2017, but I cannot wait for the new Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson. Luke Evans as Gaston? Yes, please.

What book do you love that doesn’t get a lot of hype?

So many!! One of my most recent favorites is The Almost Girl by Amalie Howard. More people need to read this awesome Sci-Fi parallel universe YA novel.

Page MorganAbout Page Morgan

I’m the author of The Beautiful & The Cursed, a young adult novel about two sisters who, on their mission to find their missing brother, discover a veiled world of gargoyles and demons in the city of Paris. I’m currently writing the second and third novels in this series, which saps most of my brainpower. I live in New England with my husband and our three children, along with our ancient dog and arrogant cat, quickly sap the rest of it. I accept virtual gifts of coffee, chocolate, and cupcakes.
