I’m participating in several challenges this year, as well as hosting the 2013 YA Audiobook Challenge.  I’ll be updating this page to track my progress with them all. If interested, you can see my 2012 challenges here.

2013 Reading Challenge at Goodreads

I’ve set a goal to read 100 books in 2013 for the Goodreads Reading Challenge, which I managed to complete. Yay!

The Debut Author Challenge is one of my favorite challenges, and this year it’s being hosted by Hobbitsies! I always discover fantastic authors and books through this challenge, and I’m excited to participate again in 2013!

Here is a list of 2013 debuts I’ve read. I’ll hyperlink titles to their reviews once they’re posted.

  3. Pretty Dark Nothing by Heather Reid
  4. Reboot by Amy Tintera

2013 Standalone Reading Challenge
I’ve taken on the challenge to read 15 Young Adult and Middle Grade standalone novels in 2013 that are released in the United States between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013. Hopefully this challenge won’t be too difficult for me, even though audiobooks are not eligible (boo!). Below is a list of standalones I’ve read in 2013, though sadly I failed to meet my goal or post reviews for all of them on the blog… though I did rate and post a short review on Goodreads and Amazon.

  1. Me, Him, Them and It by Caela Carter
  2. This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
  3. The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle
  4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  5. Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols
  6. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
  7. Left Drowning by Jessica Park
  8. This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
  9. Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller
  10. Stir Me Up by Sabrina Elkins

YAContempChallenge2013

I love YA contemporary, so I had to join Katie’s YA Contemporary Challenge again this year! I’ve signed up to Level 3, to read 15+ in 2013. I’m not sure that I’ll review all of them on the blog, but I’ll at least rate them on Goodreads. (I simply can’t write up full reviews on every book I read. For me, that would take the joy out of reading)

  1. Me, Him, Them and It by Caela Carter
  2. The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston
  3. Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
  4. This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
  5. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I’m thrilled that I came across the Novel in Verse Reading Challenge! I discovered novels in verse a little over a year ago (Love & Leftovers by Sarah Tregay, and Impulse by Ellen Hopkins) and I really enjoyed them. I’m signing up for the Haiku level, to read 1-4 books that are in verse.

Sadly, I didn’t manage to read ONE qualifying book for this challenge. 🙁
