I’m participating in several challenges this year, as well as hosting the 2012 YA Audiobook Challenge.  I’ll be updating this page to track my progress with them all. If interested, you can see my 2011 challenges here.

I’ve set a goal to read 120 books in 2012 for the Goodreads Reading Challenge. You can see what books I’ve read so far this year here.

This year I’m officially participating in the Debut Author Challenge hosted by The Story Siren! Last year I wasn’t able to join before the cut-off date so I was an unofficial participant :). I discovered fantastic authors and books through this challenge, so I’m really excited for this year.

In 2011, I realized how much I love contemporaries, so I thought it’d be fun to join the YA Contemporary Challenge 2012 hosted by Katie’s Book Blog and Reading Angel. I’m looking forward to reading new 2012 contemporary releases, and I have several in mind already! I’m challenging myself to read 10+ books (level 2).  Below is my list of ones I’ve read so far. On August 6th I reviewed my tenth qualifying book – YAY!

  1. Fracture by Megan Miranda
  2. Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony
  3. Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
  4. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller

I will be challenging myself to read and review 12 books in 2012 for the Slay the Read Paranormal Reading Challenge hosted by OtherwhereCo. This will be a challenge, especially the mini challenges that are listed over on the site. Maybe it will be easier than I think, it’s just that it seems like I’ve been in the mood for contemporaries lately! I’ll be reviewing both YA and Adult books for this challenge.

  1. Fracture by Megan Miranda
  2. Spellcaster (Spellbound #2) by Cara Lynn Shultz
  3. UNRAVELING by Elizabeth Norris
  4. Until I Die (Revenants #2) by Amy Plum
  5. Letters to Elise: A Peter Townsend Novella by Amanda Hocking
  6. Through to You by Emily Hainsworth
  7. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
  8. Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr
  9. Dearly Departed by Lia Habel
  10. Bloodfever (Fever #2) by Karen Marie Moning
  11. Faefever (Fever #3) by Karen Marie Moning
  12. Dreamfever (Fever #4) by Karen Marie Moning
  13. Shadowfever (Fever #5) by Karen Marie Moning
  14. The Walking Dead, Vol. 5: The Best Defense by Robert Kirkman
  15. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
So technically I read 12+ paranormal books for this challenge, but technically I FAILED because I didn’t write up reviews for them all… specifically for the adult books since I consider those “break” books since my blog is YA.

I discovered so many awesome debut authors in 2011, that I thought it’d be awesome to participate in the Sophomore Reading Challenge hosted by Chick Loves Lit! This is going to be hard for me I think… but I’m going to try and read and review 10 sophomore books this year. You can find out all the details and what books qualify here.

Here’s a list of sophomore books I plan to read in 2012, I’ll add as I go:

  1. A Million Suns (Across the Universe #1) by Beth Revis
  2. Spellcaster (Spellbound #2) by Cara Lynn Schultz
  3. In Honor by Jessi Kirby
  4. Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth
  5. Perception (Clarity #2) by Kim Harrington
