Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who’s had a bad year. She was smart and on track but then her mom left, her dad is depressed, she’s graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.
Then she meets Caleb. She saves his life and instantly knows there’s something about him that’s intriguing but she is supposed to be on her way to a date with his cousin. But things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally.
They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she’s ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive.
Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb’s enemies know he’s imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him.
Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another? (Goodreads)
Guest review by Anne:
Maggie Masters is a lost soul who recently just graduated from high school, a teenager with a non-existent family life and no clear direction for her future. This time in her life should be about starting in a new direction, little did she know what the universe had in store. Caleb is a man who will follow the rules of his family, no matter how differently he would like to live his own life. He is a strong male lead and a wonderful character with high morals and maturity. He is raised in a world of magical abilities, strong family bonds, and where love chooses you. The character of Caleb is one of my most favorite male leads; he is strong, stands by what is right, and protects his girl – all men should be taking notes! These two main characters are a wonderful start to this series and the chemistry between them will make you smile.
Their relationship starts off with a bang in the beginning of the book. This is one of my favorite characteristics of this book, from the beginning you are wrapped up into the story tightly. As the reader, you are pulled with Maggie’s emotions as to the uncertainty of things becoming so serious so quickly. Caleb has unbelievable patience and takes every situation as slow as physically possible to allow his new significant time to understand the world that she has now entered. The reader soon has trust and confidence in Caleb, which is a fantastic feeling to have for a character. Once the two are inseparable the action packed plot begins to really pick up speed.
Maggie and Caleb’s relationship attracts a lot of attention, not all good. The jealousy and envy of Caleb’s family rivals begins to mount and leads to attempts to separate the two lovers. The author does a spectacular job of keeping you glued to the book as she expertly builds the plot and takes your emotions for the ride. The events of the book build steadily and knit together so incredibly well that there is not one chapter of this book that disappoints. The love between Maggie and Caleb is tested, their ability to survive without each other’s healing touch is challenged and their relationship is put to the ultimate test.
As the first book in her Significance Series, Shelly Crane leaves you wanting more and more time with Maggie and Caleb. The chemistry between the main characters, the family drama, and magical enemies create the perfect building blocks for the series. I am very much looking forward to Accordance (Significance #2).

My daughter is begging for this book. She would be so excited if I won. It does sound like a very good book and I can see now why she wants it. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love books that start quickly. If I’m not sucked in, I find myself wondering away. I love the idea of a strong male character too. (Hubs are you taking some notes here? heehee)
Sounds good.
Thanks for the review.

Fantastic giveaway – thank you.
Significance sounds like a superb read. Maggie and Caleb sound like characters who are easy to follow and that no doubt I’d quickly get absorbed into following their story.
What I love about YA fiction in this genre is that rather than it being really hot and heavy, the author gives us the opportunity to really get know the characters, their thoughts, their feelings and their fears.
Significance will be a definite on my tbr list.
