The Assassin and the Pirate Lord is a great introductory prequel novella to the Throne of Glass series! This story is full of adventure and action, and you’re introduced to Celaena, a 16-year-old trained assassin. At a young age she was chosen by her master as his protégé and trained among his other older, male assassins.
In this story Celaena is sent with Sam, another assassin within the Guild, to collect a debt that the Lord of the Pirates owes. When they discover that the debt is being paid with slaves, they risk it all to try and save them. Celaena and Sam despise each other, and enjoy riling each other up… they grew up together training and competing against each other. Their chemistry was fantastic to read and I hope to see more of them together in the next novella!
I really enjoyed this novella, and I definitely want to read the other prequels before Throne of Glass!
