Inspiration by Heather McCorkle
Irish legends have always fascinated me. Visions of fairies, leprechauns, and sprites inspired me as a child. But it was the druids that truly struck a chord within me. Their story was based in truth and it was a tragic one indeed.
The inspiration for my latest novel, To Ride A Puca, came from a dream but it was the research that developed it into something special. Through the research I connected to not only the characters, but the story as well. The hardships these people faced resonated through me.
The more I researched them, the more passionate I became about writing about them. Then I came across the puca. As I read this “A horse that takes it’s rider on a wild ride that forever changes their life,” I knew the puca would be an integral part of my story. Who knew research could be so inspiring!
About the author: Heather is an author of fantasy, in all its many sub-genres. Helping other writers and supporting fabulous authors is one of her passions. When she’s not writing or surfing her social networking sites, she can be found on the slopes, the hiking trails, or on horseback. As a native Oregonian, she enjoy the outdoors almost as much as the worlds she create on the pages.
