Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

The week’s WoW feature is:

Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone
Publisher: Hyperion
Expected publication: October 9, 2012

Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett’s unique ability to travel through time and space brings him into Anna’s life, and with him, a new world of adventure and possibility.

As their relationship deepens, they face the reality that time might knock Bennett back where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate—and what consequences they can bear in order to stay together.

Fresh, exciting, and deeply romantic, TIME BETWEEN US is a stunning and spellbinding debut from an extraordinary new talent in YA fiction. (Goodreads)

I must read this book! The synopsis immediately grabbed me…  The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is one of my favorite books and this just sounds amazing. I know this hasn’t been compared to TTTW (and I probably shouldn’t either)… but I think I’ll really like it based on my love for TTTW even if it’s completely different. Time Between Us is high on my wish list for the 2012 Debut Author Challenge!

What book are you anxiously waiting for this week?

I’ve never read The Time Traveller’s Wife but it reminds me a little bit of Tempest by Julie Cross. That was the first time travel book I’ve ever read and I’m sure it’s not going to be the last either. 🙂 I’m looking forward to this one!

I like the idea of a time travel that features time periods I’ve actually lived…lol

And places I’ve lived (San Francisco).

Adding this one to my list!

  10. I’m waiting on this one as well. I love time travel books! Although sometimes they are sad. I hope they can work it out. I still ball every time I even think of the Time Traveler’s Wife.

Hmmm… 17 years apart. That doesn’t sound soooo insurmountable. There’s something Doctor Who’ish about characters who are meeting out of order in this way.

Have you read The Time Traveler’s Wife? It’s WAY out of order. She’s 6 and he’s 40 when they first meet (for her, the time travel thing makes it tricky) but it’s not inappropriate or anything. I highly recommend it for adults!

  20. I’m digging the cover! It does sound pretty good, but I wasn’t a
fan of TTTW, even though I did like Tempest and that’s also time travelling. I’ll have to give this
    one a try 🙂

Thanks again for making Time Between Us your WoW pick, Jen. I’m so flattered, and I love all the time travel enthusiasm in the post and comments!

I should mention that, in addition to lots of time travel, there are many references to both books and lattes! 🙂 Hope you enjoy all of the above!
