The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This meme was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Hello, and welcome to the first edition of the Sunday Post here at A Book and a Latte! I won’t lie, I really miss the IMM meme, however I don’t feel right continuing it here. I was drawn to the Sunday Post Meme because even though it’s inspired by IMM, the intent is to share blog news in addition to showcasing books received. OK, enough of that! I have my salted carmel latte in hand (thanks to my husband for pulling the shots this AM), and I’m ready to roll :).

This week I was thrilled to host Shannon Greenland, author of The Summer My Life Began as part of her blog tour. She shared her Sausage Breakfast Pie recipe, chatted about how food has a role in all of her books, and is giving away an ebook! Also, this week I reviewed The Summer My Life Began and Insurgent. Of course, I had to post my WoW pick of the week, and then had fun answering Ginger’s TGIF question about where I would go on a literary vacation. I’m proud to say that I already posted the May linkup for the 2012 YA Audiobook Challenge (the past couple of months they were posted late), so participates go link up your reviews! There’s still time to sign up for the challenge if any late comers would like to join us (see the post for details).

I’ve received a bunch of books the past couple of weeks that I’ve been dying to share with you! Check them out:

FOR REVIEW:

Many thanks to Kim Purcell for having her publicist send me her book! My summer reading schedule is packed, but I hope to fit this one in soon.

Trafficked by Kim Purcell

I went a little crazy on NetGalley… which is BAD! Many thanks to all the publishers mentioned below!

Dark Companion by Marta Acosta – Tor Teen
One Moment by Kristina McBride – Egmont
Timepiece  by Myra McEntire – Egmont

Glorious IllusionsThrone of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Glamorous Illusions by Lisa T. Bergren – David C. Cook
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Glamorous Illusions is not YA, but I LOVE Lisa T. Bergren’s writing and the River of Time series! I’m not sure if I’ll review it here, but if not I’ll definitely post on Goodreads and Amazon.

BOUGHT:

Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth  – my review!
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord
(Throne of Glass #0.1) by Sarah J. Mass
Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday – ebook only $2.99 through 6/2/12!

BORROWED:

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (Audible)
Under the Never Sky
by Veronica Rossi (Audible)

Coming up this week I’m hosting Jolene Perry as part of her Knee Deep Blog Tour! She will be sharing about how Knee Deep came to be, an excerpt, AND a giveaway! I’ll also be reviewing In Honor by Jessi Kirby and Unbreak My Heart – two great YA contemporaries! I may slip in another author guest post in there, so be sure to stop by!

  14. Trafficked SO reminds me of Taken (the movie) and that kind of thing would be so creepy intense in a book. TIMEPIECE. So can’t wait to read that one! KALLLLEEBB, I miss him. And I’m still waiting on my approval for Throne of Flipping Glass, bro. I want me some of that asap. I love Lisa T and am equal parts excited and scared to read this new book series after the epicness of The River of Time series. Deadly Cool has been patiently waiting to be read, just chillin’ on my shelf, and I FEEL SO BAD. I have to resolve to read it supersoon!

I’m digging your mailbox like crazy, and I hope you enjoy each book! Happy reading!
