Hello! I recently purchased an Olympus E-PL5 and I’m slowly learning how to use it. I still consider myself a newbie, but I thought it’d be fun to share some pictures here.
There were three of these guys hanging out on our lilac bush this morning! This is one of my favorite shots… anyone know what kind of butterfly this is?
Lens: Panasonic LUMIX 35-100 f/2.8
Settings: Exposure 1/250 sec at f/2.8, ISO 200, focal length 68 mm

I don’t know the type of butterfly, but you captured in beautifully. I used to have lilacs at my old house…seeing your pic makes me miss them. Such lovely, elegant blooms and scent.

Beautiful! I love how the background is out of focus. I think the butterfly is a swallowtail. Here’s the wiki page so you can check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swallowtail_butterfly

I’ve been trying to capture a butterfly on camera but to no avail. You’ve done a marvelous job here! So beautiful. I’m sorry can’t tell what kind it is. I look forward to more of your photos from this new camera.

I’ll bet you’re enjoying the new camera. The photo is lovely. Is it a Monarch? Just a guess.
